Kadina Koonce - College of Natural Sciences & Mathematics

Fri May 12, 2017
Kadina Koonce never envisioned going to college. Personal and family struggles made earning a degree seem out of the question. But she persevered and now graduates with a degree in geography and a passion for global education and bringing people together. While a student, she participated in a study abroad program in Canada, worked as a campus tour guide, was in organizations such as the Cooper Woodson College Enhancement program, conducted volunteer outreach with the homeless, and raised money for breast cancer research. This fall, she’ll begin master’s studies at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.
